The Cumbrian Tragedy.

The circumstances which surround the tragic events in Cumbria cannot be denied.
A whole community is suffering as a result of the mad events that have taken place.

I am sure that the man in question was a tortured individual, and while there are witnesses who attest to the calmness of the man whilst he was on his mission of killing, this makes me all the more convinced that this man was divorced from what he was actually doing....he was unbalanced for whatever reason.

In a way he was just as much of a victim as the victims.
His family too, are the victims. His mother has lost her son....and his twin brother, the man had children and a new grandchild....they are also victims. They have to live with the awful realisation that someone who they loved has done tremendous harm to the fabric of a close knit community.......their hurt will never go away, because they will feel guilty by association.

The news coverage of this event has been intrusive in the extreme.
I am all for news channels letting us know when something like this takes place, but their presence in the town must be a stark reminder of events that are still very raw......a reminder that none of the residents need.
They are like vultures picking over the carcass of a dead story......exposing all the gory details.......and perhaps, by their tone, implying things that have yet to be proved.

I have found the news coverage intrusive and distasteful.......and I am sure the people of Cumbria must feel something similar.

Life will not return to any kind of 'normal' (or something that passes for normal)until they pack up their cameras and microphones and head off to some other hot news story.
My heart truly goes out to the people of Whitehaven and the surrounding areas.
I wish for them the strength to come through what has without doubt been a horrifying time.

agree,am well aware of the distress these vultures can cause, am sure the people of cumbria, don't need this.:(
