The Masterplan

Not one of my favourite songs is time coming up for Oasis now hehehe nice to see lowry in movement i'suppose in fits the manchester theme, & again typically beatles theme lol

I feared the worst when the best of was announced, but as it turns out it's a release by the label, not by the band.
The label are all shirty that Oasis aren't extending their contract with Sony so they're getting all they can out of them before their contract ends (probably onto their own label).
Noel has said in NME & a few other mags that they've got about 2 albums worth of stuff already written so I shouldn't think they'll be quitting anytime soon :)
I've hoped for a Noel Gallagher solo album for a while but I think the time has been and gone for that.

Watching one of the music chanels yesterday i heard aquiese, i thought only time i've seen a vid of this is when they played maine road...

As it went it was a far eastern jap/chinaman/thai...you get the gist doing the roll as liam! It was must watch stuff and very entertaining, i watched the entire song to see if Liam appeared, did he?...that would be telling;)

Nah the band aren't in either of the new videos.
The Acquiesce video is a bit nuts, with all the Japs & all.
Acquiesce & The Masterplan were always those songs 'that should have been a-sides' ...I dunno if they should have been left that way.
But oh well. What's done is done. Yet another record company effectively ageing a band a few years.

Pure class:) Think It'll be quite a while before any other band comes along with that sort of talent.:)

If only they'd a put out Rocking Chair.................

Apparently there's been stand-up arguments with the band over the non-inclusion of Rockin' Chair, it's a scandal!

The tracklist as picked by the band is...

Rock n Roll Star
Some Might Say
Talk Tonight
Lyla
The Importance of Being Idle
Wonderwall
Slide Away
Cigarettes & Alcohol
The Masterplan
Live Forever
Acquiesce
Supersonic
Half The World Away
Go Let It Out
Songbird
Morning Glory
Champagne Supernova
Don't Look Back In Anger

There's quite a few I'd like to see on there such as Underneath The Sky, but I suppose for future generations, this tracklist shows 'classic' Oasis.

Well said, but i stand by what i say, Rocking chair is one of their finest pieces of material...for those haven't heard it...go out of your way and do it, it's a great acoustic/vocal tune!

lol maybe sony are getting rid of them because they was ''in, in the 90's "

They only did one good record and that was the first album ( apart from the b-sides that always seemed to be better )

Firstly, Oasis said they wouldn't sign on to Sony again.
Sony are not 'getting rid'.
Secondly, if Sony thought they were rubbish, they would not be releasing their best of to cash in before they leave their contract.

Probably a wise idea Spud!
I had Stop The Clocks on yesterday & I must say that the tracklist is very well done. Looking at the order on paper doesn't seem that fantastic (Talk Tonight to Lyla?!?) but it plays really well.
A very well spent hour & half :D

PMSL,The video's brilliant and like you said Shaker Liam's swaggering little animated chap is quite funny:) :)

No reasoning, just big statements to make you look big.
Yes?
No.
It doesn't work.
Try having a proper opinion, failing that, bog off.

Sorry Shaker, but the great battle of britpop in the mid 90's was won hands down by Blur.More musical talent & inventiveness, and that was just the drummer.Oasis are/were a one trick pony, nicked everyones back catologue, got Liam to whine "raaaaiiiiin, sheeiiiiine"over the top, dressed it up with some manc swagger & stone island gear and a million kids desperatley looking for a new scene after Madchester/aceeed fell for it.Okay i thought Definately Maybe was a great album, but the initial exitement soon vanished with the follow up.Give me The Gorrillaz anytime.I know your a big time Oasis fan & this is only my personal view,so don't be offended.I'm dissin the band ,not you.
