The quest for a vest.

I am not really a cold person...or what I should say, is that I don't usually feel the cold.
More so since I went through the menopause. I seem to have an internal combustion engine that works very efficiently......more so at night - so mine must be akin to the Economy Seven cheap rate heating...switched on when everyone else has gone to bed.
So much so, that most of the time, even on the coldest of nights, a great portion of my undercarriage is poking out from under the covers...at least one cheek and a leg.
I know, I know. This doesn't paint the loveliest of pictures.

A number of weeks ago - when it was predicted that we were in for a cold winter, I went out in search of vests.
But being a bit particular, I didn't want the Damart, old lady style vests.
I really wanted a couple of primark white round necked Tshirts.
I felt that they would fit the bill nicely. They are long so they would tuck into my pants/jeans and they were stretchy, so if the excesses of Christmas left me with a lumpy front, they would still cover it.

My trip to bury in search of the said Primark Tshirts proved to be a fruitless exercise....but I did get himself some NEXT cologne/aftershave for Christmas(now if I can remember where I secreted it we would be onto a winner) so the busride wasn't totally pointless.

I did think I would get some Patra silk vests, but they haven't had the style I want in stock each time I have looked......they only had either the long sleeved vests or the singlet type.
The Primark Tshirts would have been better...I'm a bit on the frugal side and want to be able to wear them all year round - to get my moneysworth out of them.
In Winter I wear them as a vest, in Summer as a Tshirt......they wash well(as long as himself doesn't throw a pair of black socks or underpants into the white wash I'm Ok...and they are cheap.

A couple of weeks ago I went to Manchester during the week.
I decided I would go and have another look in Primark to see if they had the Tshirts.
The Manchester Store is being refurbished and is all at sixes and sevens, but I persisted in my quest and Hallelujah!
They had some...so I bought three.......so I am sorted.
Yesterday, when doing the shop in Aldi, I noticed that they had ladies long johns in......perfect for keeping my creaky knees warm.....but only in white or grey.
I bought some.
So I am hoping that this winter I will be toasty warm in my multiple layers.

What do you mean? You want pictures...sorry No

The vests that they had last year were not to my exacting standards........so I didn't look at them this year...preferring the Primark T shirts(because I can wear them as a vest or as a T shirt) I hesitated over the long johns thinking that they might just be too long for me......they are long, but not too long.
Thank you for reading my drivel.

A couple of years ago I bought several sets of base layers from Mountain Warehouse, mix and match in pink, purple and black. They were on BOGOF.

They have been a godsend, I wear them as pyjamas (great when I was in hospital) and as thermals. Like you Marg being a bit of a shortass I was worried about whether the long johns would be too long but they are fine.

Hell....NO.
The last thing you want to see is me in my vest.......imagination is best......anyway, it is too damned cold to get my kit off to show my vest and long johns
