This blooming Wedding.

I will be glad when it is all over and done with.
I have been badgering Ma to decide what she was going to wear......she has kept procrastinating, thinking it was ages off....well, it was then....but I went up to see her at the beginning of this week and she was still humming and aaahing over what she was going to wear.

I had a very pretty floaty top and skirt......black with splashes of red, white and beige....I thought that she would look lovely in that.
I took it over for her to have a look at and try on.....a couple of days later...like yesterday, she still hadn't tried it on.
I got to the point where I felt like I was nagging her.....isn't it funny how roles are reversed?

Anyway last night I got a phone call to say that she couldn't wear the outfit that I had
taken for her to try.......although she said the colours looked very nice on her.
I asked her why she couldn't wear it.......well, it turned out that she could get it on, but struggled to get it off.
Ma has very limited mobility in upper arm movement and she also has the dowagers hump that goes with osteoporosis.....and the top had become stuck on her back as she tried to get it off.
I told her that it would not matter as she would have a 'dresser' like the queen......ME, I would help her into and out of whatever she chose to wear.....but no......she said she had opted for the suit she wore to my daughters wedding ten years ago.......I said to her 'I hope you are going to try it on....and inspect it for the moth. I don't want to get you up there with one outfit and you find out it doesn't fit, or it has been chewed to bits by the moth'

I told her I didn't relish attending a wedding with her in her vest and BKs....or worse, her birthday suit!

The other guests would be saying 'That's nice material for a suit, shame you couldn't put an iron to it before you put it on'

Me, well, I'm sorted....I think.
Black and white for me......Cath thought it would be sophisticated......well, we'll see.
I haven't bought a hat.......I have got myself a few feathers and a bit of curled satin bias binding on a clip......a fascinator is what it is called.
I am not too sure about it being a fascinator.
I was supposed to be having my hair cut today......just to make it a bit more well behaved......I am making it sound like a naughty child....well, it is like a naughty child.......one side does exactly what I want it to do and curls under very nicely.....the other side does just what it wants and sticks out like a sore finger......honestly I have seen better hair on bacon.
Anyway with that in mind I booked myself in for a cut and blow dry....walked up to the shop and found a note on the window to say that they are no longer trading!!!!!

Daughter had said to ask them how to wear this fascinator thing....you know, where it would look best.......I have tried it on, and I have to say I am not sure about it at all.....
it looks like something wild growing out of my head.
Having said that I was only dressed in a towel when I did the trying on bit......maybe it will look better when I am in my wedding gear and have a bit of lippy on.......I can live in hope.
I told Debbie that I wasn't taking much stuff up to Gretna with me....but I think someone has smuggled a set of bagpipes, ten pipers,a drum and an organ into my bag......it is heavy.
Hair dryers, and chargers have a lot to answer for.

Anyway, I will tell you all about it when I get back......with maybe some pics, eh?
