Three weeks from today...

It will be Christmas Eve.

I keep seeing programs advertised on the TV...you know, Christmas 'Specials' ( not that they are very special) and I keep thinking to myself 'oh, it is ages off yet'...but it isn't.
I really don't know where this year has gone.
It feels like it should be mid July.
It only feels like last Christmas was about three weeks back.

I am taking a whole load of Christmas cards up for Ma to make her choices from...once chosen, I will address them and post them tomorrow.
I have also been charged with the task of sorting out the gifts she wants to give
Much of these will be easily dealt with courtesy of PayPal....so no wrapping or tagging there.

I have a small pile of Christmas gifts in the corner of our bedroom.
Not doing a lot of presents this year...will give gift cards. That way people can hopefully get something that will please them.
Gift cards need little in the way of wrapping and adding bows to, so that cuts down the work.

I have located two door wreaths in the top of our wardrobe. I am going to tittivate them up a bit with some holly, ribbon and baubles.
I might even blow the dust off the two mantel trees, but that is not a promise....that will be my nod to the trimming up.

I never hold out much hope for a Christmas gift from himself...he does not trouble his brain trying to think of something that I would like.
This year I have saved him the bother...I have bought my own Christmas gift(and paid for it too).
So it is my gift to myself...like the advert says 'I am worth it'
I bought myself a MacBook Pro.
It was something I promised myself...I saw one that I liked, so I bought it.( it is not new, but refurbished and upgraded to a top spec...the battery is new...so it should last me until I am ready to kick the Internet in the head)
It arrived yesterday, so by Christmas I might just have got my head round the differences.

my mam used to say...be good to yourself...no one else will be. laughing as per usual at your blog

And your Mum was spot on...it seems to me that Mums nearly always are...right that is.

It seems that in the recent past I have looked after others better than myself.
I rarely splurge or spend money on myself...it seems very extravagant.
This opportunity was too good to miss...and at a price that would never come again.

Good on you, Margaret. Hope you get lots of enjoyment out of your gift to yourself. You really do deserve it, you give all of us lots of enjoyment with your blogs.

As for the quickness of time passing, well every month when I change the calendars I'm sure it was only two weeks since I did it before.

Thank you Dotti.
Yes, I do believe that I am worth it.
So glad that you enjoy reading my ramblings.
As for time....I think it must be like toilet roll, the closer you get to the end, the faster it seems to get used up.

Ma tells me that a lot of her time is spent visiting the past. I have told her that if she gets to visit the future...be sure to get the winning lotto numbers :)
