Time passes.....

Some things change...and some stay the same.
Sometimes the things that change are the ones we wish could stay the same....and the things that stay the same are the ones we wish would change.
Does that all sound Greek to you?
Yes, well, I know what I mean.
My daughter is still waiting urgent medical investigations...ordered six weeks ago and due to have been done at the end of Feb.
The hospital rang her the night before the tests were to be done and cancelled the appointment...with no reason given as to why.

She has not worked since last July, so the company she worked for gave her the elbow.
Telling her that she is failing to fulfil her contractual obligations. She had asked to be given shorter working hours and to be allowed to do adminsitrative work(which is in her contract) and despite this request being backed up by a letter from her GP, and one from her consultant, her rquest was refused.

It isn't like it was the job of her dreams, but it was convenient for home and it paid some of the bills.
Ah well, such is life.
So, because I felt it would lift her spirits a bit...and give her a change of scene.....I booked our favourite house in Llandudno and we went down there for a break and to get away from it all.
It was half term week.......usually when the children have half term the weather changes...and not for the better.
It didn't matter about the weather really. The home that we rent, is cosy and has everything you need to kick back and relax.
We did a bit of a shop on the way down there...although we had planned to perhaps go out and have a meal out at one of the eateries that are nearby...and have some grub from the Hambone....a brilliant deli.
Well, the week was superb. The weather was spectacular........cloudless blue skies...and if there was any cloud it was whispy and high.
The air was as crisp and tangy as a Granny Smith apple...it put roses in your cheeks at both ends:D.
We went out every day. Gentle walks along the Esplanade...taking in great gulps ozone.
The children played on the beach...and they would quite happily have paddled in the sea...but we nasty grown ups put a stop to that!
I cooked good basic food......Cottage pie made with welsh beef......not a horsehair in sight, Chicken breast with a baked spud and a healthy salad....but we did slip off the healthy path a couple of times.....the Hambone does delicious Danish pastries......Apricot Crown, Raspberry Danish, Apple and almond slices.....oh, I am making my mouth water just thinking of them.....and their pork pies are to die for.
If you get to the shop early they are still warm...and when you cut into them the juices run out...and the pastry is light, crisp and golden...stop it, stop it STOP IT!

In the evenings we played Board games and we laughed so much at the silliest of things.
We didn't stay up late......but we did get up early.
The children both have their morning (body) clocks set for just before 6am.
It was a lovely week...it just sped by far too quickly.
That was one change that did us good.

The pictures will just give you a flavour of our little break.

Seems like a proper "Wonderland" (Aargh lousy pun I know :) ). The main thing is though, from the sound of it, it was a much needed break. Hope things get better soon Ma. :)

Looks like you all had a good needed break glad you had a good time and I hope she gets the medical help she needs soon and on the mend,
