just found some old parts and things got a computer up and running, well maybe not it starts up alright but cant detect the hard disk checked all the connections it seems fine and then comes up searching for boot from scsi and a litle background thing comes up and says boot media ive tried to install windows .windows starts up alright and then stops through the set up and says hard drive not detected.is it my hard drive gone or is it the thin cable thingp.a ive put the cable in the righ place and way..anybody???????????????:hidewall:

now says drave a error pri slave drive-atapi incompatable but im sure the hard drive is the one that was already in...:confused::confused::confused:

make sure teh bios has been set to teh correct type of disk. Is it an IDE or SCSI disk? (hint, SCSI disks usually connect to a card rather than the motherboard direct. it could be your using IDE disk but teh BIOS is set to boot from SCSI first hence the problem

It's a Time computer, the bios only has an option for elastic band or piece of string :D

so why are most large corporates moving to Lenovo?

to the OP

Flash protection enabled is nothing to do with it.

Where did you look for realtek boot? write down teh exact detailks of whats on teh screen including the other options and post them here so I can check your looking at teh right place

i'll start from beginning i swich computer on it comes up nvrm ok then moves onto pri-master drive-atapi incompatible and pri slave incompatable pressf1 to continue

then i press f1 the big square ting flashes and then goes onto searching for boo from scsi..not found and then says boot failure re-boot by proper device or insert boot media

im going to try some other connectors th one that goes from the motherboard to the hdif that fails another hard drive if that fails another mother board:confused::confused:

you aren't in teh BIOS. that is only the POST screen. Look for something that says press F2 or DEL to enter setup.

ha ha ha cheers for those cables .ive worked out its not the cables ..going to try a hard drive thats comin tomorrow...if that dont work its back to the drawing board:hothothot:hothothot:hothothot:hothothot:hothothot:dflam::dflam::dflam::dflam:
