In my wisdom I decided to defrost the freezer today. I had to do it as I could just about squeeze a box of fish fingers through the ice on the top shelf. I also had a massive wedge of ice at the back of the fridge (my door seal must be on its way out).
Knowing that it may take a while and not wanting any food to spoil in the process, I bagged up all of my frozen food and stuck it in the back yard. I decided that I would attack the ice with my new hairdryer... Wow, it's good!!!! It's the fastest I've ever defrosted the freezer. It was a different story getting the huge wedge of ice from the back of the fridge though. I managed to loosen it with the hairdryer and as it was attatched to the shelf in the fridge, I removed the whole shelf with ice intact.
The only thing I could do was carry the shelf outside and smash it against the garden wall. It was heavy and massive.......honestly, I actually found wreckage of the Titanic in there when I smashed it. The fridge is all clean now and all of the food is back in it, but the iceberg out the back shows no sign of melting.... I wonder if I can make a story up about it and sell chunks of it off on e-bay...
