Strange question (sorry) but I know one of you out there will be able to give me an answer to this:

When I had my new bathroom fitted, I questioned the inspector as the lid will not lift off my "cistern" thingie at the back of the toilet (technical description that!!) I wanted to put them loo-blue efforts in. I was told that you are not meant to be able to lift them off so just said oh ok. Later wondered if this was right or not, what if there was a problem and a plumber needed to get to the bits inside?? Should you be able to lift the lid off?? Please can someone tell me, I want blue water :D

Why not settle for yellow like everyone else :D
Seriously though - those blue thingies damage marine life

pmsfl your off yer head mrs ;) is it a new smaller cistern? i know my sister has one like that thats fixed on, its all one unit isnt it, just buy some blue bleach, that should sort yer problem out ;)

How are ya supposed to fix the thing if it goes kerput?

iv never heard of it...then again i aint got a new bathroom suite, mine is ancient:(

is there any other way 'in'??

iv got green water:D

Is that why we don't use 'Dolly Blue' anymore?:p
Detergent manufacturers now include 'whiteners' in their products - that is why your garments fade unless you buy detergent especially for coloureds.
Both types are enviromentally damaging

It will come off but you will have to put it back together again! we have fitted our own and it was a pain in the backside !!!! they are not made to be lifted. because the inside is conected to the flush buttons for the short flush/long flush.

Hmmm, it has a lid and it moves slightly but i cant lift it off. Was just curious really, also not sure how they will be able to fix it (as my flush button keeps sticking!)

I was only asking a question about my loo, am already aware of what chemicals are used in detergents etc which is why I am selective in what I use, especially for and around the boys (have previously worked as a lab technician)

They are made that way to stop you puttng in them blue thingy's, they rot the valve on the end of the syphon plunger.
Its probably cheaper to replace the whole unit these days than to fit a new syphon.
Retlaw.

If you can't get hold of the plumber who fit it let me know i will have a look at it but it sounds Spanish to me.

It was a subcontractor on behalf of hyndburn homes, might just call them out about the flush sticking problem, they will have to take it off then lol
