Treading the boards

Well I just got back from the gym, all showered and thought I would make another entry. Hopefully I have burnt off a few more pounds there and soon I shall have the body of a greek adonis, so watch out folks lol
Well after I write this I am about to attempt another fun filled afternoon of DIY. After plastering, wallpapering and painting it was decided that we should get some laminated flooring. Yes thats right, that easy to lay, simple to use false wood flooring that the experts always bang on about.
Well they obviously haven't tried to lay it in this house.
Easy??? you ask. NO, is the answer. In a house this old, that has walls and floors that are curved, bent and wavey, trying to lay things on or against them is not the easiest of tasks.
Added to that the fact that most of the pieces seem to not want to get intimite and close and refuse to 'interlock' makes this task a joy for all the family.
Starting yesterday at just before lunch, we were still at it just gone 7pm last night, and yes only half the floor is done.
What makes this afternoons session of floor laying more exciting is that we are getting to the tricky parts. We have to tackle a ornate window frame, fireplace and strange box shape thing in the corner.
I can here the fun and laughter even now as I write this. So come on down, grab a board and get laying.

Thanks for the offer g78......but I think I'll pass.......I would be absolutely useless at that........I think you are brave to be trying to bring your house kicking and screaming into the new century.
Best of blooming luck.......in my book DIY stands for destroy it yourself!
