Weatherflash!!!!

I love snow. There was none left when I set off to work this morning. In fact I was in more danger of drowning going down the 66 this morning. nearly 2 hours to get to work :( At least teh underside of teh car got a good wash!

tree uprooted on union road, wish I had my camera with me: a nice little police man standing in the middle of the road diverting traffic: ( did I have to mention special branch promotion) ouch:

it's getting wild now, prize from HBC for who gets the most blue boxes in their garden ( I have 3 in mine)

the tree has been sorted now been eaten by the tree machine by hyndburn homes machine.......getting worse out there my garden furniture has flown round the garden...my wishing well has been blown down my grey bin out back garden is no longer standing & can stay that way.& finally i picked a beautiful red rose from garden .

It's very wild out here. I could hardly stand up when I went out and an empty compost bin has paid us a visit - presumably come down from the allotments.

Sounds to me like your going to need the Angelsea lifeboat up there Mez:D.

Apparently a roof has been blown off one of the units on Altham industrial estate and caused damage to a few cars

Well there is a few slates just come off the roof of a house across the road and there is a nice whole there now:eek:

just a bit hehe they just said on the news that winter hill are getting winds upto 91mph

Wow, now that's some wicked wind eh Mick? How far off is that from Accrington?

I wish we could get some snow. It's finally been cold enough -2 to 2C (I think). It was nice being able to work on cutting and splitting wood when it's nice and cold like this. As I guess you may know, most of US has been hit pretty hard by snow and ice. Not sure if Billcat has got hit hard or not.

Main road in Brierfield is closed. I have to go that way later to pick my daughter up from childminders. If I can't get through she will have tolive there... shame :D

oooo just been into accy and got blown all over the bus station...its fookin terrible out there...the roof on the arndale was blowing like hell, i thought it was gonna come off, went into the arcade and the corragated stuff on the roof was blowing about :(

I saw a bin blown across Accy Asda car park this morning.

As for the snow, I do like the stuff, as long as I can still drive my car when I need to (or want to), and as long as the snow doesn't upset my football schedule!

Looks like it is still warmer in Accy than here. This morning, it was 19 degrees F (about -7 C). They're promising us some "Wintry mix" tonight, a not-so-lovely euphemism for a slushy belnd of snow and rain. Ugh! Don't mind snow, don't mind rain, hate the slop in between!

I left my office in Warrington at 1.30 p.m. today. I had to get across a wide road to the car park I was using. The wind was so strong I almost fell so I grabbed some railings and stood for a minute getting my breath back. A young chap, waiting in his car at the traffic lights, wound his window down and asked me where I was going and did I need a lift! :)

When I got to the car park - large and very open - I spent 2 minutes clinging to someone's Ford Mondeo as I couldn't walk straight and I really was in danger of being blown off my feet (I'm still recovering from flu and not feeling very strong). I got to my car by grabbing every other one I passed and then I had a job to open the car door as the wind was blowing it shut!

There are large branches down all over the roads here. The Mersey is in danger of bursting its banks and the traffic is horrendous as Thelwall Viaduct is closed and all the HGVs are going through Warrington.

On the whole, I'd rather have snow.

:(

Somebody has just posted this picture of the incident on Colne Rd Brierfield I was talking about earlier.Somehow I have to get past ii in an hour
