Weatherflash!!!!

We are having new windows and doors today, many thanks to the poor guys at Sureframe who did them. They took the old window out and leant it against the wall, big mistake, 2 minutes later it was halfway down the street, with glass shattered all over.

My Dad drives a motorbike and it took him 1hr 15mins to get from Haslingden as he had to go about 5mph, and at one point he still ended up on the other side of the road in a grass verge.

This wind is causing chaos all round.

A roof or something must of blown down on Abby Street near the Chippy roads was closed off at dinner time.

And the amount of debri around my front door is very annoying.

I've just heard that our new, giant Tesco store in Warrington has had to be closed. The roof's blowing off!

Well its now either lightening or the lights in the house are flickering. God I hope the power doesnt go out!!!

winds are bad up my way too, seem to be getting stonger by the minute, been 3 accidents round my way hgv's being blown over and 1 car ended up in a ditch

I lived in Durham City (Crossgate Moor) in the early 70s. One day I watched 5 enormous Leylandii trees, in the garden behind mine, come down one by one in the wind. 80 mph winds were just a slight breeze up there but I've become a bl**dy soft Southerner now! :D

Been told by 3 customers that Haslingden Sports Centre is now minus it's roof and our delivery driver told us the M56 was shut. It seems to have calmed down a bit now but it was certainly extreme earlier on!

LOL! Did you manage to pick the little un up ok though?

Looks like the weather calming now thankfully :)

Oh well, looks like I'm gonna' need a roofer if any available soon ! Just got home and the end tile thingy (what is that one called that fits on the apex of the roof ?) has blown into my drive. Lucky me car wasn't there.. would have had a bent bonnet lid for sure. Any recommendations welcomed as the gent who used to do mine has now retired.

Noticed next door neighbours wind chimes have now landed in the drive .. guess too much wind for those, eh ? Can't say I am unhappy about those though ;)

well my sons were at work and a wall collapsed thankfull they were away from it but only by 5 mins ...

Phew! doesn't bear thinking about does it cherokee ! Bet lots of near misses today .. hope not too many injuries.

When I worked in the centre of Manchester on a day like today, turned to go down Princess Street and this huge approximately 3' x 3' solid wood sign from a club or summat fell off its hangings and just brushed my shoulder .. that was definintely one of my nine lifes I can tell you .. makes me shudder now to think of it .. can still her the thud as it hit the ground ... brrrrrh.
