This is Westender's daughter, Nik.

Sad news I'm afraid. I'm sure a lot of you knew about her health problems over the last couple of years and unfortunately my mum died on Wednesday afternoon.

It was very peaceful at the end - me, my sister and my nephew with with her and she just slipped away.

If anyone wants any more details please PM Westender and I'll get back to you.

Nik

what a shock, my condolences go to you and your family, she shall be greatly missed, such a lovely, kind and warmhearted woman xxxx

Very sad news indeed, your mum was from my era and from my neck of the woods.
Sincere condolences go out to all West Enders family members and friends.

OMG im shocked & saddened i too enjoyed her posts & will be greatly missed on this forum by everyone. My sincere condolances to you & your family.

Deepest condolences.

Although many on here never meet, we feel as though we're part of a family and it is extremely sad to hear news like this. She was always welcoming to newcomers, had lots of fascinating knowledge about the local area and had great wisdom. She will be missed on here.

Jen told me about this so I've just popped back in to pass on my condolences to you and the family.

A nice lady who will be missed.

Can't believe this Nik .. sooo absolutely sorry. Right to the end she had some wonderful posts and blogs showing how proud she was of you and all her family.

Just wondered if you had a 'photo of her so that we can put a name to the face to remember her by .. x

Thank you for all your kind words. My brother and sister and I were going through a huge box of photos earlier. I'll post a couple tomorrow.

Thanks Nik .. 'course I meant a face to the name .. yer mum would have laughed at that, or pulled me up.

Always felt would have come across her at some time as she was my age group. x
