Wetherspoons

So they must have been desperate.

It's downhill from here on.
Not the way I see it but you are entitled to your own opinion. Maybe the building should have been left to rot like the Con Club, Cannon Street Baptist Church and many more buildings in our town. Or maybe they should all be demolished to make way for even more Tesco express stores:rolleyes:. Any Wetherspoons that I have visited has always been very busy selling food and guess what we all know it isn't going to be up to "gourmet" standards but "cheap and cheerful" will suffice for most of us when nipping out with friends at lunch time. ;)

That's the problem today, Cashy - people have no principles.

I don't mind people selling out for a pound of flesh - but selling out for a free pint, a dodgy plate of chips and a few piccys of local celebs plastered on the wall?

Is there nowt sacred?

We get the picture Tealeaf.....you don't like Wetherspoons......you believe that you are too good for them....they are too provincial for you.
So why keep on about it?
No-one is going to force you in there.........and at least there is one thing we can be sure of....if we do go in there....we won't be meeting you! Hallelujah.

The thing is Margaret, it will probable take off in leaps and bounds now Tealeaf has stated he won't be going in:D

Andy Proctor was part of the offical opening team and at least a couple of members of staff present although I had to text one of them and ask who dressed them :D

Ok, I won't ask who! Sounds like a reasonable place to have my postmatch pint, while I'm waiting for the X41. :)

Have just checked it out,was heaving, the pics i saw were of ewbank, some hall/lodge etc, beer garden was great, ample space under cover n outside, never saw all the pics, couldn't get near some of em, on the downside beware if yer taking kids in, half of coca-cola £1-65.

Right, I'll be checking it out myself in a few weeks time and if there's no Stanley pics, I'll be having a word! ;)

I was just saying to Reece that we should have a look in sometime for a meal, i think he'll be drinking blackcurrant and soda, its cheaper, thanx for that Cashy
