We've been here before......extravagance!

The last two days have been absolutely glorious.
Lovely warm sunshine with a hint of a breeze.
Just the kind of weather that makes you want to get out and about.
Well, Saturday we did get out and about.
We used our bus passes and took ourselves off on the 9.05 bus to Manchester.....and I felt confident enough to go without a coat or cardigan of any description.

Every time we got to Manchester we seem to walk the same route of shops.
This is because even after going so many times, I could spin hubby round three times and he would be lost.
I despair of us ever getting separated in the crowds......yes I know he has a tongue in his head, but I honestly don't see him asking directions to Chorlton Street.
We both take our mobile phones in case we get separated, so why pray does hubby usually put his in my handbag?

Me, well I can find my way round most places with ease.....even places that I have never been to before.
I often wonder if I was a homing pigeon in my life previous to the last one....I just know I was a bear in that one :).

We like to look in the posh jewellers...planning on how we would spend a lot of money....if we ever had a lot of money that is......himself drools over watches.......and at the moment he regularly goes to Watches of Switzerland to look at the Panerai display......Me, well of course I look at the diamonds and sparkly stuff, but I also look at techno bits......cameras, netbooks, that kind of thing.

Now I don't usually look in places like Curry's, but their shop in the Arndale has been closed for a few weeks....to be honest I thought perhaps they had found the rents in there too much......anyway, was wrong on that one.
They were just being refurbished and turned into Curry's Digital. Hubby wanted to go in and look at the new super slim TV's....so while he was doing that, I headed over to the display of cameras.
While I was looking a salesman asked me if there was anything that I had in mind......'yes' was my reply.....'I have seen the ad for the new Lumix G1, but I can't actually see one'
He puffed himself up to his full height and said 'It has pride of place in our new store'..........and he pointed it out to me.
There it was resplendent on its stand......what a neat and nifty little thing it is.
I picked it up, it had a decent weight to it despite its diminutive size......it didn't feel flimsy......but then I spotted the price....£489......now, I accept that in the world of cameras that isn't a lot of money.......but when you added the additional lens on, and the memory card it took the price up to nearer £700.
Whilst I was drooling over this lovely camera, my husband came back.....the salesman was saying that there was an offer on, because they were newly re-opened.......'alas, I would need to save up for it' was my response.....hubby chirped up 'she could buy that right now if she wanted to - she doesn't need to save up for it'........so tell me why didn't I buy it?
Because it seemed like an extravagance, that's why.......and yes I know we have been here before....and only a little more than a year ago......which is when I splurged on my current Lumix.

If it is another beautiful day tomorrow, I may just take myself off on the bus to Manchester for another fondle of the newest Lumix:D......yes and to take some sunny pictures of Manchester with my current model.

oh so now your fondling camera's hey...whatever will you be fondling next? a new mobile perhaps ;) lol

No Flashy, Mobiles don't do a thing for me....it has to be cameras, laptops, Mp4 players....all I want from a phone is the ability to contact someone in a time of need.....and big buttons......these fiddly little piddly things are just no good to me.
I can't do with a phone that lets you access the internet, take photo's, make toast, vacuum the house....what am I saying? Now that would be something...especially if it did it while you were out:D.

At least fondling a camera won't get me into too much trouble.

when you go past tomorrow margaret as its supposed to be another lovely day tomorrow, tuesday, wednesday and thursday ... wave as you go past if you see me cutting the grass ...

i want to get it done .. they come and empty the brown bins on tuesday ... and as ive already filled mine from the back garden and the weeds from the front im going to be filling up the neighbours ... she says its fine .. so get it done and it will look all nice and tidy ...
