I'm usually mega organised on Christmas Day, you have to be when you are working it. This year it all kind of fell apart though, my good intentions went out of the window. I had planned to get up at about 7.30, open the pressies, walk the dog, leisurely shower and get ready for work, a nice breakfast then up to my sister's for a couple of hours before work.

Due to waking up at 3.30am having a hot do, I got up, cooled down and had a coffee then went back to bed at 4am. I then overslept and didn't get up until 9.45. Sparks and I opened the presents as quickly as possible, I had a quick shower and dragged the dog away from her new squeaky toy for a quick walk. After putting my face on we hoofed up to Sammy's for an hour where I managed to stuff down a bit of turkey and a couple of roasties with gravy. None of the veg was ready but I just needed something to fill a gap.

I managed to get to work on time to find that the early shift had been lovely. We stayed just nicely ticking over for my shift and had just a couple of deliveries. We even managed to all sit down for a brew together and that is unheard of. In total we had only 6 deliveries on Christmas Day and not one of them was from Hyndburn. I had to speak to the reporter from the Accy Observer this morning and let him know that we had none from our area. That must be a first......

We've had a nice morning today too and I have to say that it doesn't bode well. It means that we will have a horrendously busy New Year, so I'm glad I'm off. Last Christmas was so busy and stressful that people didn't want to work it this year, but I'm glad I did.

The only thing is that I am craving a Christmas dinner now, turkey and beef with chipolatas wrapped in bacon, roast and mashed spuds, parsnips, carrots and cranberry sauce all drenched in gravy. I'd even force down the odd sprout... Sherry trifle to follow and a whiskey coffee with mints. If anyone knows where I can get such a feast please pm me, I'm desperate.:D
