What are 'notifications'

Help a thicko.Although I have been an Accy Webber for a while I still don't know all the ins and outs of its working.So please will someone explain! Is it good or bad to have "n
otifications".

I think it refers to the fact you've received a recent PM/like or some such.

If you look at the top right hand below Quick links you'll see Notifications in red.

Click on it and it opens into a box showing what type of notification click on the ones that are above zero and you will be taken to whichever notification it is.
