It's an old (possibly Lancashire) tradition on the first day of the month Yolanda. We say "White rabbits". It's supposed to be the very first thing you say when you wake up on the first day of the month. My mother used to say it three times. I have absolutely no idea why.

Something I have done since I was a little girl!! I'm from down south and I only heard of White rabbits since I came up north. So I do both!!!
Tho' my children think I'm nuts and wonder why they have a sore arm at beginning of each month!

My sons fiancee comes from Ross on Wye,and she does pinch and a punch.....

Are there really white rabbits in England? Jack rabbits turn white in winter .... makes it difficult for the hawks and other predators ... but the little bush bunnies seem to stay the same color all year ...

well ya need stronger glasses granny, owd bilsborough that i used to take papers for,his daughter had one in a hutch at the top of the ginnel. it tragically O.D. but thats another story.
