As the old year drew to a close last night, I got to wondering who it was that brought in the year.
I cannot remember, but if I could, they would be banned from doing it again.
I rank 2018 alongside 2013....both years were very difficult for our family....but I think last year (for me personally)just has the edge...but only by a midges wotnot.
It seemed that during last year I was expected to keep 40 plates on sticks....not just spinning, but from falling to the ground.
I felt a bit like Sisyphus....and for those unfamiliar with this Greek myth...Sisyphus (Sisyphos) the King of Corinth was a deceitful greedy man.He put death in chains, cheated death by his deceitfulness.
He defied the gods....his punishment in hell was to be forever condemned to push a large boulder up a mountain side.
Each time he got within sight of the top(which would have meant his task was complete and he was free) he lost his grip on the boulder and it rolled all the way back down to the bottom again...meaning that he had to start all over again.
That was 2018 for me.
It was a physically hard year....and mentally too.
So many things needed to be dealt with...and it was (despite the fact that I have five other siblings....three of them worse than useless)all down to me.
It was not until the bum end of the year that I began to see a light.
So if I say that I was glad to close the door on 2018, I suppose you will see why.
I have to hope that 2019 will be kinder to me...that perhaps it will be a bit easier.
I have to wait and see.
That said, it makes no difference what my hopes are....I will get whatever it delivers and try to make the best of it.
To close this episode I will wish you all the very best of health, that the year is kind to you and those you love, and that troubles(if they come) are little and easy to solve.
