Yes, I know it is Christmas, and folk seem to want snow at Christmas....but not me.

I think it must have been Junetta who jinxed us by choosing 'Winter landscape' as a topic for the latest competition.
I knew that I didn't have any snowy winter pics in my archives......and I did want to be able to enter something into the competition......so this morning I donned my pink flowery wellies, put on my faux sheepskin jacket and set off gingerly down the street.
I know it rained for a while last night, and it doesn't take a genius to realise that frozen rain with a crispy snow topping can be lethal.
I had taken a couple of mundane shots in the backyard....but felt that I should perhaps venture a bit further.
I was thinking of perhaps a trip to Mercer Park.......I went down the back of Blackburn road and hadn't gone very far when my legs went up in the air.....my head went down and my bum landed with a thud in the fresh snow........and try as I might I could not get to my feet......I was laid there like a tortoise on its back......legs waving in the air.
I would have been displaying my drawers....except.......I had had the sense to put a pair of leggings on (to keep me warm)....these were rapidly soaking up the wetness of the snow.
I did eventually manage to right myself......no real damage done(hurt pride doesn't count).......I had saved the camera from taking a bump.....but it put paid to any ideas I had about venturing to Mercer Park......I needed to go home and change my wet things.......so if you think that my efforts in this competition are rubbish.......at least you know why.
Remind me to tell you about the revenge of the Christmas pudding.
