Why?......that is tiddlers favourite word at the moment.
Why is Grandma Duck an old lady? (he's seen her picture on the Accyweb comp)
I told him that she is an old lady because she has lived for 80 years.
His next question ....? Why?
Me .....because she hasn't died.....Him, Why?.....Me, because we look after her.....
Him....Why?
Me.....because you have to take care of your Mummy when she gets old.
Him.....why?
Me......So that she doesn't die!
Him....Why?
Me....because if she died we would all be sad.
Him.....why?
Me....because we would not see her ever again.
Him....why?
Me.....Grrrrrrr!
He does ask some very grown up questions too.....some of which I can't answer easily.
And I used to think that he didn't really take on board the answers i gave him, but he does.
He wanted t play with my Nintendo Ds this afternoon....I told him that his grandad had made me sell it......anyway I was soon sprung.....he went and asked his grandad why he had made me sell my nintendo DS....and of course his grandad said he hadn't made me sell it.
Then Tiddler wanted to play with a Dinosaur game......it is one of those free things you get with the newspaper, but I have to admit it is very good. He wanted to play with the game on my laptop. I told him the battery was low. The little blighter was not to be outdone....he said 'it works if you plug it in'
By golly, he's right....so that ploy didn't work.
I told him that I couldn't find the CD that is needed to play the game.
So he marched in the front room and opened the drawer where all the free CDs live and proceeded to have a look for it.
I thought I had better intervene here as it was likely that all the Cd would get mixed up...and yes we did find the disk....so I had to give in.
We played the dinosaur game for about an hour......excavating bones and putting skeletons together....and he knows exactly which bone belongs to which dinosaur......and he can name many dinosaurs and tell me whether they were 'carnivorous'....what's carnivorous I asked?
'It eats meat, silly' was his reply.
I think I got fed up of the game before he did.
What I do know is that I was mentally worn out by the time his daddy came and collected him......I'm just going to lie down for a while in a darkened room.
