Wireless Networking

Have finally got round to making the printer/copier/scanner wireless. Now I don't have to disconnect the printer from the main pc, then reconnect it to the laptop, just to print.
Can just sit in the armchair in t'other room and print to my hearts content :D

And there was none of :enough: either!!!

Why didn't you just share teh printer from teh main PC and send it to teh networked printer?

Maybe they turn the PC off when not using it.

Was just thinking that myself,

After all, as an (allegedly), wise man said about routers,

With regards to the turn it off or not debate, I do, basically it would be there burning leccy from bedtime (10:30 ish) till 7PM the following evening doing nowt. it might only be a few watts but times that by 20 hours a day and by 365 days a year and it adds up to a fair amount and leccy ain't cheap anymore!( not forgetting the green aspect!)

The same principle must be applied to spare computers.
:)

Do you misspell THE on purpose, or is it a problem that you have? I'm not trying to be difficult, but I notice that you do it repeatably (including 3 times in one sentence). I know that there's some silly trend on the internet of misspelling the word in the way you do, but I'd be very surprised if you were doing it for that reason.

But you still have to get out of your armchair to collect your prints.... :tongueout
Well I have to go and turn the printer on to start and then when i go to turn it off I can collect anything I have printed. The main reason for making it wireless was to prevent me having to disconnect the USB which involved moving the tower under the computer desk every time.

aah....what you need is either a well trained small child or some kind of pointy stick/ spatuala dooly...... like they have for getting pizzas out of the oven.... one end for pressing the on button and one for scooping the pics

lol

LOL
It would have to be the child option emamum as printer's in the next room so the spatula would have to be about 12metres long and highly flexible :D

No he doesn't spell it wrong on purpose, entwisi is a very intelligent person but unfortunately has a blind spot with certain words, if only you could either:-

1/ Allow him this little irritation.

or

B/ Post as well as he does.

Then, you would have a right to criticise.

I am surprised that an operating system as good as Linux running high quality applications does not auto correct the misspelling of teh ;)

If you do a search, I did a thread on it. Its a mental block i have, there is nothing I can do about it. If I can be bothered I sometimes go back and correct them, it just depends on how I'm feeling :D

I don't worry about it as its just part of 'me'.

Not at any point do I criticise anyone or suggest that there is a lack of intelligence. I was asking the question out of curiosity.

Just be careful getting off your high horse.

Thanks for clarifying that. It's a strange affliction and one that I'd never come across before, but now I have. Thanks again. :)

I have the same problem with the word 'strange' - if I don't check myself I usually find I have typed 'starnge'.

As for the switching on and off of printer. I go for the 'convenient child' option.
;)
