It ended up being my job in London to organise our Christmas party. The first couple of years I didn't even attend, as I usually had some other simply fabulous, glamorous night double booked.

The Christmas night out just used to be an excuse for abour six of 'the lads' to go and get almightly drunk on the boss's credit card. The first one I went to was held at School Dinners. It was so outrageous I'd better not go into too much detail, suffice to say a good time was had by all, and I got a couple of dates out of it with the man that owned the company, before he was plastered all over the News of the World, but that's another story.

The year after they didn't know where to go, and being the little socialite about town, asked me for ideas. Somehow I ended up organising the whole thing. I thought it was so bad that it was just for a small clique, some people didn't even know we had a Christmas party! So I sent invitations to every single person that worked for the company, and followed that up with a personal invite.

That year I got the number up from seven the previous year to over forty. I'd booked a place on Lower Regent Street with three floors. We could have an apertif or six, a sit down dinner, and for those that wanted to stay, boogie on down in the nightclub until 3 am. It was a great success, even the boss came for the meal, and didn't even query the bill, which had mushroomed somewhat on the previous years, because by everyone getting together, a lot of the petty squables were healed, and so the company ran better, full of happy little bunnies.

I organised the parties for the next ten years until I handed over the responsiblity to Milly, my right hand girl and dear friend. The only stipulation was that I had the last say on the date it was held, and that I could time it so it was two days after I got back from my holiday, all tanned and lovely.

The woman who has organised the Christmas party from my brother's bakery has kindly asked me to their party. The occasional washing up from me has paid off. I was really touched, as they decided it was no partners, just themselves. It's silly but I'm really looking forward to it. You can keep the bright lights of London, a meal in Franco's followed by a trail round the pubs in Ossy sounds like fun to me.

Sounds like some wild times were had by all ;) Hope you enjoy this years xmas do. Maybe not as raucous but I'm sure you'll make the most of it!!!!
