Well she had to get somebody to read her bedtime stories Denis wasn't capableNot having that. Maggie allowed one Jeffrey Howard Archer to enter no.10.![]()

You gotta be jesting! One of the people who spewed on my nice clean uniform was none other than the late, great Alex Higgins. That was indeed a night to remember.Besides, you didn't specify what little jobsworth hat you were wearing at the time, when people spat at, and vomited on you.
It could have been when you worked at the English Electric Company in Clayton-le-Moors, for all we knew.

It's all very well bragging about the good times, surely you rubbed shoulders with the common man as well?
Seriously though, you took the job, no use complaining now, is there?
A major part of the problems today arise from the fact that half the kids being born are unlikely to know who their parents are! Hence the inbred morons currently trawling our streets with their pit-bull terriers in tow!

Ooh, you are an awful bunch - but I like you! Aren't we all common men? It's just that some are more common than others. Yes, we all have a good old moan at times, but isn't it supposed to be taken in context, and not become an easy source for unwarranted criticism and sniping by people who should perhaps know better. It's been 20-years since I left the police force, and frankly, it was good while it lasted, but I was glad to get out of it in the end as the day to day stresses affected my health in such a way that I was unable to continue. I then returned to my engineering roots until I was diagnosed with a life threatening illness that remains with me till this day. Thankfully I have the love and support of my family to cheer me along. The banter on this site, though trying at times, is a much appreciated source of debate and long may it continue to be so!It's all very well bragging about the good times, surely you rubbed shoulders with the common man as well?

That's exactly the way I see Accyweb too G. forums like this only exist because people look at life in different ways, if everybody thought the same what a boring world we would live in, and as you say there are more important things in life, the main one being to prolong it as best one canIf we all thought exactly the same way, besides making life incredibly dull, it would mean there'd be no need for debate, or forums to host said debates. Which is basically just an exchange of ideas.
In the great scheme of things, what others think, really isn't that important. As long as what you believe, you see as the truth, that's all that matters.
As you hinted at, somethings are much more important.
Family, health, friends, love.

Just saw an interview with Gaddafi on BBC TV news, the mans a lunatic, everybody loves him, well according to him that is, and there is no rioting its those nasty al qaeda who are causing all the troubleJust seen on news the "United Nations" have suspended Libya's membership of the "Human Rights Council" that'll really brass Gaddafi off.![]()

The only person that demonstrated their love for him as far as I'm aware was Tony Blair - as seen hugging the man on frequent news bulletins. Could this be yet another fine mess that we've inherited from his tenure in office?Just saw an interview with Gaddafi on BBC TV news, the mans a lunatic, everybody loves him, well according to him that is, and there is no rioting its those nasty al qaeda who are causing all the trouble![]()

- Gaddafi comes over like a deluded lunatic, an eccentric out of touch with reality living in his own illusion!Give it a rest clownI reckon this is on subject..with the highest petrol prices the UK has ever had where are the protests and blockades from the "countryside alliance"..who proclaimed they would take down the then Labour Government... just goes to show they were/are another right wing sub division of the cut and demolish far right government we ended up with!
Only if you promise to act as my agent!Stop moaning.. write a book.. plenty of other bods have made a decent living from that![]()
