Andrew, I know you like to come on here and have your political banter, perhaps a wind up here and there All well and good, get on with it.

Are you really of the mind that these people who are on strike are celebrating the fact ?

No, the link is for UNISON who are clearly pleased at the disruption.

Doesn't matter if I agree or not, the money aint there! Everyone would like a pay rise to help that little bit more, but the situation Brown has got us in means we're gonna have to suffer till we can elect someone else.

No but I certainly don't trust this tax, tax, tax government with recovering the economy! Brown rode the wave and has no idea what to do now he's at the beach.

the last time tories wanted to get some cash in quick they brought in the poll tax

5 people in a house paying £900 a year each to live in this country infact i think it was more i cant be bothered checking but everone remebers the misery that caused

if the tories get in they will most likely raise money by kicking disabled people off benefits , stop working tax credit for mothers and bring in another form of poll tax , however they do it i will bet my bottom dollar it will serioulsy effect the more vulnerable and needy in this country because thats what they do

It is a 'pay cut' because it is less than inflation. They are not getting any less money, they're being offered a 2.45% rise. Therefore to honour the 6% they want, more money would need to be found.

Irrespective of whether it is a pay cut or an insubstantial pay increase, these people have a right to take up their grievance with their employer.

Would you advocate the removal of that right ?
