Retlaw .. Walter holmes a very old member on here died on 2nd January 2024 aged 92.
He was a fireman at accrington station. he was mainly known for working with Bill Turner about the history and the members of the Accrington Pals. Rest in peace walter .. you are going to be missed. Condolences to all the family.

Rest in Peace Walter, you were a sterling chap who did a lot of vital research that helped people locally to find out about those who fought for this country.
My sincere condolences to his family. Walter you were a delight to know…I will miss you.

Retlaws funeral is on friday 19th january at 1pm at accy crem chapel with burial at 1.45pm

RIP Retlaw. The passing of this extremely knowledgeable man is indeed very sad. His contributions to Accrington Web were always very interesting. He helped me on a number of occasions with his expertise. My sincere condolences to his family.
