Take a look at the Friends of Real Lancashire (FORL) website to learn that Liverpool and Southport are still in the county of Lancashire, of which the Queen is the Duke.

Garinda's use of 'thisen' interests me. I hear nothing except 'thisel' in Accrington and it wasn't until I met up with people from other towns that I heard thisen' I have always thought it more...

The book is probably 'Lanky Spoken Here' He followed that with 'Completely Lanky'

There's a book written by Dave Dutton - I think it is called' Lanky Talk', which has pagefuls of these sayings in.
