That's close. It wasn't Gabriel though. It was Moroni. We have a statue of him on top of our Temple near Chorley.

P.S. Mormon lived several hundred years ago on the American continent and the abridged version of scriptural and historical records which he wrote was translated by Joseph Smith Jnr.

Yes that the Warren Jeffs crowd. They call themselves Mormons but the way they live goes against just so many real Mormon standards.
