Re: Coronovirus

No dates as yet and the "test" events with crowds sadly went ahead behind closed doors.

Hopefully the local spikes are under control which then will give Boris and his advisors the confidence to...

Re: Coronovirus

Carabao Cup will not be "ditched"; far too lucrative to EFL and their members (clubs)

FA Cup replays "might" be under threat earlier in the Competition; but nothing agreed.

Championship and PL...

Re: Coronovirus

This morning's meeting was to vote in the required regulations to allow each division to make it's own mind up. Without a regulation in place a formal vote could not legally take place.

L2 are...

Re: Coronovirus

No the EFL haven't already decided the outcome of tomorrow's vote.

However the Peterboro CEO has rung each club multiple times asking how they will vote. From the replies he's received he's...

Re: Coronovirus

That's what club's think BUT one club has asked the EFL to ask IF we can return to training; ( as and when required) with players still on furlough; on the basis there is no income.

Highly...

Re: Coronovirus

There has been no vote, actual/ informal or canvassing opinion in L1; just a 3 hour video meeting in which it was obvious there was lots of different opinions.

I have it from an excellent source...

Re: Coronovirus

There has been "talk" of getting external monies, from say Govt but Football PLC ( in the main ) has overspent so there are concerns such move might not look to well with the general public.

Re: Coronovirus

Once again there has been no vote of any sort in L1

L2 "voted" informally on their Zoom call a week last Thursday that to end the normal season

What is put out in the media is a combination of...

Re: Coronovirus

Ladies and Gents;

The EFL are not "useless" they are making sound decisions based as close as they can to the current regulations.

Clubs have 3 days to make written submissions on the Board...

Re: Coronovirus

Once again please don't believe all that's in the press !!

There has been no meeting of any Division today, but I think there will be the usual EFL Board meeting taking place today.

Re: Coronovirus

Mmm;

Interesting as Burton are the biggest "champions" of cuts for players.

Can't really believe Nigel really needs the money ( only a guess) OR a superb news story to get others to buy into...

Re: Coronovirus

The EFL are pushing back the "retained" list until 23rd of June or the usual 4 days after a clubs last game.
Obviously clubs can do it earlier if they want to talk to players.
However it's all a...

Re: Coronovirus

Correct sir;

That's going to be a massive challenge for us and several other small clubs.

Morecambe train at Lancaster Uni and there are 1400 overseas students on the campus who can't get home!!

Re: Coronovirus

Things are moving slowing as we only got information on Boris on Sunday and the Elite Athlete information yesterday afternoon.

The EFL and it's clubs cant do anything without this information

Re: Coronovirus

Andyd;
Spot on; shorter contracts are offered in L1 and L2 with 1400 expiring on June 30th 2020; hence this being a critical date. Likewise clubs will have to reduce squad size. Some lads drop...

Re: Coronovirus

All clubs were asked to send totally honest cash flow's to the EFL, without Extra owner/ football fortune support.

Sad to say PFA don't believe there is no money at clubs. These figures if needed...

Point taken;

But what's your solution??

We've only completed 72% of the season and clubs want promotion without court room battles.

Re: Coronovirus

Correct sir;

That's why the cut off date of the 30th July is so important.

Any player (and there's 1400 of them in L1 and L2) who's contract expires June 30th 2020 gets another months...

Re: Coronovirus

Pro football is different to cricket and RL as our season has nearly finished; neither of their's have started.

County cricket doesn't get massive crowds ( apart from T20) and can sort of be...
