I still would not hold my breath on that score.
Labour has lost a lot of support. The electorate does not trust them with the economy(I wonder why that is?).
They are not trusted over...

Yes, but they are something in the region of £1000 new(I haven't seen any second hand ones).....and I wouldn't like to trust myself on one of them...the bus drivers don't give you room to fall off.

You'd be alright going to Accrington(well unless you lived down the bottom end)...coming back would be a lot harder...uphill and open to the wind and the weather.

It was either Shippams beef paste or sardine and tomato(yeeuk).
We rarely had bought food...although at some seaside resorts we used to,get a jug of tea which was half a crown, but you got two bob...

Yes, I feel like I had the richest childhood, even though we were poor.
It was poor in financial terms, but rich in experiences...and you cannot put a price on experience.

When I was little you could get one of those runaround train tickets for twenty one shillings for an adult, ten and sixpence for children...and children under five travelled free.

I think it must be generational Cashy.
We are not the smartphone generation, even though some of our generation have smartphones, we are unlikely to use them for paying for things as we were brought...

As for bus passes...I would be quite happy to use a bus pass that required a flat rate fare.
I often travel before the bus pass can be used so I frequently pay my fare.

Neil, not everyone has smartphones(in some cases of those who do, the phone is smarter than the person carrying it).
I prefer to pay with money. I distrust your method of payment....and yes I know...

Can't tell you the cost of the journeys you mention.
No Oyster cards to my knowledge...but more people seem to be using smartphones with their ticket on it.
I think the flat rate fare is a good...
