Re: I'd do anything

That's terrible. Hardly fair, him being the producer, and it being just before the final. I'm glad it's backfired on him.

I also thought he was bang out of order when asked who was Nancy, and he...

Re: I'd do anything

I think you're right, and also think she's toned up over the run of the programme.

She's gorgeous, with a personality to match, and I hope she'll have a long and successful career.

Bloomin' hell, just found this.

She certainly has lost a lot of weight.

Go girl.

Re: I'd do anything

Great result.:)

As you say Lily, Jessie upped her game tonight, and performed really well.

Happily it's the people who decide, and the people want Jodie as Nancy.:)

Re: I'd do anything

With the twisted way she sings out of the side of her mouth, plus all the stopming about, I think she's terrible.

I want big Blackpool Jodie to win, with Samantha as runner up...and given the...

Re: I'd do anything

Of course, and it involves several international phone calls to discuss the programme, which luckily I don't pay for.

My top two are Jodie, and Samantha. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic, to quote...

Re: I'd do anything

I think a pre-sequin Bassy would have made an interesting Nancy. Certainly the scratching by the cat from Tiger Bay is pure Nancy.:D

YouTube - Shirley Bassey - DOCUMENTARY (Clip 2)...

Re: I'd do anything

Not pickin' on you, honest hun, but I have to disagree with you on this one too, but 'having a great deal of colour in their faces' wouldn't have been seen as being healthy. For one thing they...

Re: I'd do anything

'she was not the first choice for Nancy. Director Sir Carol Reed had wanted Shirley Bassey for the role, but Hollywood studio bosses felt the world – and particularly the still racially divided...

Re: I'd do anything

I quite agree. No mention is made as to Nancy's ethnicity in Dicken's book, and the east end of London, being one of the busiest ports in the world, was a real melting pot of people from all over the...

Re: I'd do anything

We'll be bowing to Sir Andrew next, before passing more judgements from our comfy seats.:D

I like Niamh too. Fragile, but showing some inner strength, and a great voice.

Re: I'd do anything

I thought little Sarah's 'Maybe This Time' was brilliant, and Samantha's 'Somewhere was spine chilling'.

I can't see the appeal with Jess, nor agree with all the praise that is heaped upon her....

Re: I'd do anything

There are plans for a new West End production of Funny Girl, starring Connie Fisher, which is probably why they aren't doing an audition programme called 'Looking for Fanny'.

Funny Girl - 2008...

Re: I'd do anything

My Nancy brought the house down when we did Oliver, in my school's production in 1979.

Ok, there were no girls at QEG's then, but I didn't just get the part because I was priddy. I brought a...

Re: I'd do anything

I think a few of them need to go back to 'Nancy school', and that's just the presenters and judges.:D

Personally I hope 'lost a lot of weight Blackpool Nancy' wins.
