The last hedgehog I saw was in a quiet lane and as soon as a car came it curled up. It was quite a big one as well. Unfortunately this is the only photo I managed to get.

Oh thanks for that information makes sense. It's like if you live in Brazil loud music all night is the norm, people don't complain. But here it's anti-social.

But what does racism have to do with fireworks? :rolleyes: Kids were letting them off in Accy long before their was a large Asian contingent. ;)

I havn't handled a hedgehog for a long time but from what I recall the more scared they are the more prominant the spines are.

So your a couchcampaigner! :D

Like you, I know how to pick them up, if you do it gently and cup your hands all you feel are the tips of the spines like a plastic hair brush. It's if you try and grab it with fingers out...

I wouldn't pick up an adult hedgehog the spines cause serious pain, use gloves. Also if you get to a certain distance they will curl up usually - then get your gloves out to pick them up.

Not really - just putting out some facts, that I thought you might not know - many years ago seagulls used to be eaten by many working people round costal areas. As did many other things that have...

Good information! :D A historic point Gypsy's used to eat hedgehogs; covered in mud they were baked in a fire, when done the mud was removed out came the spines.
