Ask your GP for the results. Anyone can get an infection after an operation, the majority of post op infections are not MRSA. When you sign consent for an operation you are normally told that...

Yes, it's common practise in all transfers. Swabs are taken from nose and groin and sent for culture.

Actually, Norovirus is often spread by poor hygiene of the sufferer and not necessarily the staff. If you get Noro, then your whole family will get it if you are at home. The vomiting and diarrhoea...

The truth I was referring to was that parents hadn't been told...... According to my sources, they had.:)

MRSA is present in all walks of life, people carry it quite happily without it ever...

The alcohol gels are good and people, especially visitors, are getting better at using them. However, alcohol gels don't kill C Difficile.

Thanks Steeljack, a few simple measures can help to cut infection rates but unfortunately, things aren't so simple on this side of the pond.
