This one came to me because it's so hot here - I remember people saying they were "sweating bobbers" -wonder what it actually means.

Have a bad knee at the moment - "gammy" would describe it!

Another rhyming adjective is "jammy" - if someone is a bit lucky. "Jammy devil" is one my Gran used...

As fit as fleas I'd forgotten haven't heard it in ages -how about as bright as a button or as sharp as a razor! Think it means the same sort of thing.

Yep, it's one we used to say too -haven't heard it in ages though. When something made you feel like you wanted to be sick. There was a horrible smell on Frederick st. Ossy quite often from the mill...
