It is a 'pay cut' because it is less than inflation. They are not getting any less money, they're being offered a 2.45% rise. Therefore to honour the 6% they want, more money would need to be found.

No but I certainly don't trust this tax, tax, tax government with recovering the economy! Brown rode the wave and has no idea what to do now he's at the beach.

Doesn't matter if I agree or not, the money aint there! Everyone would like a pay rise to help that little bit more, but the situation Brown has got us in means we're gonna have to suffer till we can...

If one thing is clear, people don't want increased council tax, or fewer services.

Browns tax and spend-everything-we-have policy has left us in a very difficult situation.

It seems UNISON are celebrating depriving children of an education by closing schools, closing nurseries and services for the disabled..
