Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

I remember Ernie, he was a few years ahead of me at AGS. Seem to recall he started the "Ernie Lee Blues Band" in the 70's and the Observer did an interview with him. So, Jim, what's the CD like?

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

Hope you can sort it, Jim, I reckon a lot of Accyweb members would be very interested to hear this, the only recorded evidence of Accy's great lost supergroup. If you do manage it, make sure you...

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

Jim, I don't know about the technicalities of this, but could you not post a sound file or something of "Days of Men and Women" on here, so people can hear what Accrington Stanley sounded like? On...

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

Taggy, I'll tell you something about Jacko that I always remember. One day around 1970, I was sat in the Derby with the usual suspects - Isaac, Florrie, Vito etc. We were all dressed in the uniform...

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

Believe me, Jaysay, if Cashy's best pal can, then you can. This guy is Mr Rock 'n' Roll, the epitome of cool. Nearly went out and bought one myself, when Cashy told me he was using one! :D

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

Jim Payne was the drummer, Jaysay. He went on to play in a whole series of pro bands, including the legendary Accy supergroup, Accrington Stanley. Been talked about on here a few times.

Great to hear, you're back on the road, Tony! Old rock 'n' rollers never die. As Cashy says, doubt I'll be able to make it to the Bash Con, gig but I'm sure I'll receive a...

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

Before Jonesey, Jim was in a band called Accrington Stanley which also featured Rod Hill and Dave Foster from The Warriors, Brian Johnstone and local legend, Wammy. This is the great, lost Accy...

Anybody remember The Soundcasters? The line up was Tony Cooper, vocalist, who was in my class at AGS, Glenn Ainsworth, lead guitar, Maurice Blezzard, bass, Gary Hull, organist, and Dave Hull, drums....

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

I too remember The Dansaks well. Saw 'em quite a few times at various venues around town. Geoff lived just round the corner from me and sadly, as Beechy says, he lost it somewhat later. A couple of...
