Their is Hope,"I Hope". Read This.

Aclose friened sent me this today and in the liht of the horrifoc events of today lets all hope that love like this still exists !
It was a busy morning in casualty 8.30am, when an elderly gent walked into have stiches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurryas he had an appointment at 9am. Itook a look at his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour beforeanyone would be able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided since I was not busy with another patient to evaluate his wound. On examination I found that it was well healed , so I talked to one of the doctors, and got the needed supplies to remove the sutures and redress the wound. Whist taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had a doctors appiontmentthis mornin, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

I then enquired as to her health. He told me that she had been their for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease. As we talked and \I finished dressing his wound,I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late.

He replied that she no longer new who he was, and that she had not recognised him for 5 years now.

I was surprised and asked him,"And you still go every morning, even though she does not know who you are?". He smiled and patted my handand said. Shedoesn't know me, but I still know who she is".

I had to hold back tearsas he left, I had goose bumps on my arms, and thought, " That is the kind of love I want in my life".

True love is neither physical nor romantic. true love is an acceptance of all that is,has been, will be and will not be. Withall the jokes and fun that sre in e.mails, sometimes their are some that come alongthat have an important message, and this is one of those kind. Justhad to share it with you all at this time of tragedy.

Oh. by the way,PEACE is seeing a sunset and knowing who to thank. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything that comes their way.

Let all our thoughts go out tonight to those who have suffered at the hands of the terrorist cowards whoever they may be and may they never be able to clear their mind of the misery they have cause others who asked for nothing but a living. ian.
