You may have read in the paper that the person in question pleaded guilty. She has to pay it back in installments plus £65 court costs.

At the end of the day most people are relieved that the money will be returned eventually and that the matter is over. On the other hand, if she was going to plead guilty why didn't she just admit it all before the police were brought in, paid it back over time and saved herself having a criminal record?

I feel sorry for this woman's children who will have to endure all kinds of comments made about their mum.
