It's ironic I just read that Jon Anderson is the supposed Godfather of punk singer Ariana Forster of the punk group "Slits" who died this week..

YouTube - The Slits I Heard It Through The Grapevine

Strange coincidence that while Johnny Rotten, who became her step-father was banging on about hippies... :mosher::mosher::mosher:

Good for him. I might even forgive him for all the self-indulgent, navel-gazing, yawn-inducing prog rock he's produced over the last 40-odd years.

I'm sure I once saw you carrying a copy of Yes's first album under your arm at Accrington Grammar School.

Nothing wrong with a bit of Yes... However if they played 'Close to the Edge' half time would have to be extended!

One thing's for sure...Alvin will be absolutely over the moon about it. Prog rock and Stanley - his two major passions together! :D

Re: Jon Anderson of the 70's group "YES"

I enjoy the music of Vangelis.
(Instrumental music is more to my taste - most human voices are 'imperfect instruments')

Amongst my Vangelis collection, John Anderson performs in some.
I wouldn't have bought those CDs to hear John Anderson, and did notice that his voice is pitched higher than most men.

Although he doesn't sing off key, I don't consider myself a 'fan' of his.
