Having being brought up on a steady diet of Yes, Jon and Vangellis, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Genesis, James Taylor, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Peter Frampton, Asia, ten years After more prog rock etc...... is there any counselling I can get?

But seriously, regardless of your opinion of Jon's music, I think this is a great thing for the team, it cannot be worse than the famous Milk Advert! He is giving somthing back to his town of birth and if it bring more publicity to Stanley, all the better

Fair enough Cashy, it did do more for Stanley than Rushy, but then he was quite handy with the ball

I was in a crowded bar in Bruges in 1996 sampling some of their 200 or so beers. Got chatting with a Belgian guy in his twenties, mentioned I came from a place called Accrington, he immediately came out with Accrington Stanley.

Spot on Mr Harris!! Unbelievably excited at the news, I've said for years we should be cheeky and ask Jon for something like this. Maybe we could send him a shirt with "GOING FOR THE" on the back and the number "1". :)

Me and a few of my prog head mates can't wait for the gig and if it promotes Stanley well even better!! I guess he is finally finding his way home..... ;)

I'll Find My Way Home - Jon And Vangelis - YouTube

Although Topographic Oceans can stay at home please Jon. Admit it Wynonie....you'll be first in line holding a battered copy of Fragile on vinyl. ;)

But, where could we hold such a concert for such a star? We had better start thinking NOW. I imagine its the PARKING that would be the problem. We would have to do a "park and ride".
We could suggest the original Accrington Stanley Ground, nr Peel Park School, or, Oak Hill Park would be good also.
