yea i say get accy back to what it was like 15 years ago .a thriving sunday market,the potential is coming back,the clock ,get rid of all the scum that has arrived.;)

i remember that clock :D was quite a nice peice really :D took up alot of room but now there parking car's there well trying to sell them etc but no i think the clock was great :D

I have just had my first visit back to Accy for 5 years and went to have a look at the clock in the Arndale centre as it has give my family plenty of fun on our visits but see it has gone...what happened to it and I will support any campaign to have it back. Also what has happened to the market..was there no demand any more for all the stalls that used to be there!!

That's down to the new 'improved' town centre plan.

What was once a thriving, vibrant market, isn't anymore.

lets no bother , all it did was allow pick pockets to work while people stood gawping at the horendous thing:rolleyes:

put broadways large flower beds back insrtead of those awfull things they have now and reduce rates for shop owners in teh town center to envourage decent shops to open

Although I wasn't living back here then, I liked the clock, and it certainly seemed to attract more people into the town than the pushy Sky floggers who currently inhabit the space now, who most people seem to avoid like the plague.

Is it an all weather clock do you know, could it be installed in the open air ?
Could look good in the new suggested square.

Seems best way, if you want it back, could be to mention it to Urbed, the people who did the Masterplan for Accrington, as seemingly they like quirky things like this.

The "dome" in the Arndale was made for the clock and so it should be returned. as far as I am aware, its just in the "basement" of the Arndale.
