There was a pub near the bottom of Frederick Street, on the corner of that little side road. My granddads local. When he'd got paid for a big job he'd disappear in there for the weekend.
Can't remember it's name.

That's the one, cashman.
My grandmother used to send my mother down to try to get him out but she said it never worked.
Those were the days(1920's) when if a man went 'for a few drinks' he could disappear for a couple of days. And his wages with him!

Thanks for doing this, pity a few more don't join in but there we are.
Are you sure you were logged in?
Your name appears under the top banner when you are. The reason I ask is I have stared at the screen a few times wondering what was wrong only to realise I had entered the wrong password.

Where streets are not there just put it where you think it should go - I can easily reposition the arrows if they are not quite right. Better to have the relevant icon on the map so other people can comment on position.

I have just added The Palatine, the Organist at The Berkley had it when I worked there and I have left there a few times in Sunday morning daylight - happy times.

Where was Spring Hill WMC? (Charter Street - Lonsdale Street?)
Was The Printers and Pickups Arms the same pub?

Printers is corner of Union Road Ossy and Moscow Mill Street.
Pickup's Arms was along Moscow Mill St on corner of there and Pickup Street.

The Old House at Home should be repositioned on the (now) traffic island.

I worked in Melbourne House and watched the demolition made for Eastgate.
I wasn't intending to 'nitpick', but you prefer precision.

Thanks Margaret, if we are going to do this I would prefer it to be accurate.
I have moved the Old House At Home although people who don't remember Melbourne Street will think it is a dangerous place to have a pub.

When you log in and the screen is displayed - is the drag icon on Avenue Parade?
