OOoooh now I'm being educated because if it's where I think it is then I always thought it was. I'm off to get my dowsing rods now and find out what it connects to. :blink8:

Re: Puzzle 21

Now this puts me in a quandry. Willow has the two parts of the answer right but has not connected them and Doug has one part of the answer right... What would you do Solomon?

Oh sod it! it's only Virtual Money. Willow and Doug are both Winners! Hooray!

It is Woodnook Water entering the culvert which runs under Paradise Street taken from the site of the former Accrington Baths.

What gets me is the amount of time that was spent around there as kids and the bells still didn't ring. I would like to thank you A-B for such excellent use of judgment, I would be more than happy to concede my winnings should it be required. It’s the hunt itself that brings rewards.

Oh lol I said Woodnook Water early on when I thought it was elsewhere! I really must get on top of all this water under Accy. My dowsing rods never came out because I had an appointment elsewhere which I've only just returned from and thankee kindy A-b for the ackers. :)

Willow, Why would you need dowsing rods to find Wooknock Water :)

Re: Puzzle 21

It disappears underground elsewhere as does the Hyndburn.I'd love to know exactly which what goes where and how.

Re: Puzzle 21

A quick and easy way to have a look at what runs where is to have a look at the Mario site...

http://mario.lancashire.gov.uk/

Once you have zoomed into the required part turn on the historic maps and choose the transparent one which will show you the 1845 map on top of the current map it's a bit skewed but accurate enough for most purposes.
