It is Woodnook Water entering the culvert which runs under Paradise Street taken from the site of the former Accrington Baths.

Oh lol I said Woodnook Water early on when I thought it was elsewhere! I really must get on top of all this water under Accy. My dowsing rods never came out because I had an appointment elsewhere which I've only just returned from and thankee kindy A-b for the ackers.

A quick and easy way to have a look at what runs where is to have a look at the Mario site...
http://mario.lancashire.gov.uk/ Once you have zoomed into the required part turn on the historic maps and choose the transparent one which will show you the 1845 map on top of the current map it's a bit skewed but accurate enough for most purposes.
