No cant be removed from scoreboard but if these fictious people try again to register that IP addy will be completely banned & the cheaters have been lucky to get a second chance i hope this incident doesn't repeat again if it should it will result in instant ban.:Banane37: Anyone joining the quiz who wish to play, that hasn't used their accyweb username & without letting me know reason or intro'd here [in this thread at least] will have to removed to ensure the quiz isn't in dis-respute again.

I'm like you, a bit confused.:confused:

The questions apparently change every time you play, so how can that benefit you if you them play again?

As for the Global Trivia Challenge, no way could I be bothered to play six times a day, instead of the daily three. Besides it wouldn't do me any good, as I've played more games than you...and you're still whuppin' me.:D

ok, we tried to post this last night but our internet is playing up at home at the moment.

do I cough to something, yes but not what you all actually think.

bodgeitbilly does actually exist. he is a mate at work and I would normally have a brew with him in the morning whilst he did the quiz and watch the Qs he got and what the answers should be. then it was easy to fly them out quickly using exactly the method I have described. I would say though that some subjects "bible triv" for one did repeat a heck of a lot of Qs and in those cases I didn't need to use Bills go.

As for IP tracking, in these days of routers and proxies, it is quite possible to have many legitimate users on one IP as you will only see the IP of the router/proxy server(i.e. NAT hides your individual IPs). However it is not hard to also use completely different IPs. e.g. I have access to teh following set of IPs,

Home
Work (LAN)
we have 5 seperate wireless LAN points at work each with their own IPS , I can switch between any of these.

dialup( I have three different accounts I could use) - turn off images and dial up is perfectly useable.

unsecured networks, - there are loads around, dead easy to hide behind someone elses IP (if youhaven't secured yours mel I could even appear as you!)

so IP is not reliable

Speed wise, nope no cheat there, once you know what words to look for you can fly through them.

In a way, raver blew the gaff by being so quick on brand new subjects :D If he had used his head and got a few intentionally wrong you probably wouldn't know for sure.

I do think that teh big issue is the fact that the server doesn't mix Qs during the day. Also if you create a few 'quizes' of your own and set the subject the same it doesn't take many days to get a good selection of teh Qs in your head. :D(not that I have done this method-yet!!!)

there was also a mention of how teh quiz could be done extremely quickly. I have mentioned this to a couple of people, Mel included, so now this is a come clean session I'll spill the beans on that as well,

I started working on a way to get a sub 1 second response time. what I would do is to write a program that effectively enters the quiz for me, it would make teh request to teh server, take the HTML response, parse it to get the 10 set of answers out of it, look them up in a database of already known answers and formulate the response to the server. in a quiz where all answers were known the response would be pretty much instant.

so smack my wrists if you like, I did say I have a devious mind :D

as raver as said to accymel me and raver share a computer at home. i go on in the morning and when he comes home from work i dont get anywhere near it.when all this cheating started i told raver who the cheats were as i used to sit here and watch them do it sad yes.when i asked raver how people were doing it he eventually put me on the right track.so i created brynbo2004 and went on global challenge to see if it worked. it didnt as the questions are never the same.so ontuesday of this week i tried it on here after already playing under my own name of rishton blue and found out when going on as brynbo2004the questions were the same so i did it as fast as i could but intentionally got one wrong.so yesterday i went on as brynbo2004 first then again as rishton blue when i got one wrong on purpose again as norwich stanley had already got 10 and as he was the only one who had played i took his score as genuine.my intentions for doing this was not to cheat but to prove to myself how other people were doing it .i will wait for feedback before deciding whether to continue playing this game again.by the way good luck to norwich stanley in the all love stanley league i am brynbos blues on there..hoping that this explanation clears a few things up sorry for any offense caused especially to accymel who certainly doesnt deserve this.
once again i apologise unreseredly and hope you realise my intentions were not to cheat.

Quiz Now Open!

Due to recent events i have secured the quiz so that no cheating takes place & will come down to luck of the draw as far as questions are concerned, leaving the server to run the pool of questions rather than me manually setting, as there is a flaw with manual set questions that the cheaters are now well aware of & been ilfultrating this past few weeks that the same isp gets the same questions no matter how many play on that isp, mmmm funny how the cheaters with the fakies have been running off the same isp - FACT!

SO now each individual player will now get their own questions in random order from now on. Sorry it has come to this but with the amount of cheating that has taken place its left me with no option & that at least 2 people or more in one household/pc do not get the same Q's & avoids the temptation & suspicion - plus makes it fair to everyone but does mean selective variation of pool q's cant take place unfortunately.
