He won the bus driver of the year award about five years ago . I haven't seen him on the buses for a good while . He lived off Willows Lane near the Willow Mount club . I often see one his brothers walking the dog on the cycle path near the old underground .

further down from us (we were No 14 right next door to the Horseshoe)..I do remember the wholesalers..and I do remember an elderley couple now you mention it...did they have a big green plant in the front parlour window..like an aspidestria...I know it sounds like a Gracie Fields song..but I can remember this plant in the window......David Gudgeon's sister Barbara was my best friends in those days and I spent quite a bit of time in their house..

Thats the one I have the table it used to stand on in their front room, whilst looking for a picture of young Gudgeon, and my uncle whilst doing that came across the solicitors papers for nu 7 Crawshaw St, they bought it in 1893, and had paid the mortgage in 1938.

Didn't find the pictures, but there are some on one of the threads about Crawshaw St.
During WW1, 7 residents of Crawshaw St, served in the Army, 2 of them were called Palmer.

They even had an online shopping facility and once delivered my order in person(because I lived local)

The shop closed after the till was robbed twice in one year - sad really, because he gave good advice about the products he sold.

Wasn't it caled E M C Health Foods?.
