Britain's Got Talent
Well it back tonight and judging from the press coverage should be a laugh a minute in the early stages, there seems to be some "real mingers" in this years little lot:D
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Yaaaaay! I love BGT. :D
Looking forward to a few laughs amidst all this doom and gloom we've got going on at the moment. |

Re: Britain's Got Talent
How fabulous was Susan Boyle? :mosher:
She was the scottish lady who amazed them all when she sang 'I dreamed a dream' from Les Miserables. |
Re: Britain's Got Talent
She was wonderful...gave me goosebumps.
I can see her being in the final. |
Re: Britain's Got Talent

That song is one of my favourites from Les Miserables too. |
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Posted via Mobile Device I was absolutely gobsmacked by her! I was fully ready to cringe but my god she was fantastic!!
Get the woman a good stylist though. That dance act Flawless were fantastic as well. The family group to, the son, Elliot had an amazing voice for someone his age. Cant wait for next week! |
Re: Britain's Got Talent
What about Stavros Flatley, the Greek Cypriot dancer, and his son? I thought they were fabulous - so funny. :D

Re: Britain's Got Talent
Well, lived up to expectations, a good laugh and some good artistes as well, the Scots lass amazed me, never expected her to be such a brilliant singer, seen a picture of that woman with the wobbly bits in this mornings paper no wonder they used the Union Jack graphics, would have scared the young kids to death. Anyway must go now I'm off to blow my water bottle up:D
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
we'll expect to see you back then sometime after the next olympics then :D:D:D
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Wasn`t the stripper good.......................?
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
I thought it was great!:D
Some real good ens... and then of course some real bad ens:D The stripper..... were they tassles?? lol Roll on next week |
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Susan Boyle was tremendous, she stated before she sang that she had never been kissed, well no surprise there, but without guidance, she will have plenty of unscrupulous hangers on by the next show, along with 2 dozen relatives that she wasnt aware of!

Haha, exactly Jaysay. (your cuosin susan), I tried to blow a hot water bottle up many years ago, after watching it on telly, it is not for the faint hearted, a lot harder than it looks, not sure I would class it as a talent though!

Re: Britain's Got Talent
There's a chap in Warrington who owns a gym and he was on "Opportunity Knocks", 30 years ago, blowing up a hot water bottle. It was his one and only claim to fame. :D

What makes people decide to do these things? Blowing hot water bottles up, eating x amount of whatever in so many minutes, growing their nostril hair to 12 inches etc etc......how do they think them up? |

Re: Britain's Got Talent
The chap with the Ferrero Rochers was one of the highlights last week. Now, I may be alone in thinking he was winding up the judges like a cuckoo clock but what other reason would there be to have him on the show? It was so stupid and banal it was funny.
We thrive on this sort of thing, in this country, don't we? There was a woman, many years ago when I was still at school, who used to tear telephone directories with her bare hands. She was often on the telly and - that was all she did! No, I tell a lie, she may have bent the odd poker as well. :D |

There was an Item on ITV news last night about her, it seems that a video on U Tube has had 20 million hits in five days, that's some going to say the least. It appears that Demi Moore put a link from her Web Site to the U Tube and everything went crazy

Re: Britain's Got Talent
Last week's how was the first I've ever watched.
The woman has a good voice, but she isn't the next Callas or Ferrier, in my opinion. I think her very adequate voice was more of a shock because everyone expected her to sound like a cat being strangled. |
Re: Britain's Got Talent

Re: Britain's Got Talent
Apparently the woman has gone into hiding, after facing the barrage of publicity the Cowell machine has generated.
I hope any success that the programme brings this very nice woman, brings her some joy. Money doesn't always equate with happiness. Let's not forget the biggest winner of all, as with all his similar programmes, will be Simon Cowell. Don't get me wrong, I was as wowed as the next person when she appeared on the show. It wasn't until I heard her again on the radio this week, that I thought her voice wasn't that special. The most unique thing about her was she looked like she could have been Madonna's mother, when she is in fact three years younger than the Material Girl herself. |
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Quote:
Don't think Susan Boyle is interested in the money really, just wants to sing for her supper. Think she will emerge soon and adjust to the limelight. :D |

I like eccentrics, but just hope they don't give her a make over, and style her as the new Jayne Macdonald. I stand by my claim that after the shock of this kooky woman not wailing like a cat, her voice is good, but not brilliant. Try listening to her sing without any visual input. A good voice, but certainly no better than many others. |

Re: Britain's Got Talent
..a different style too...
this reminds me of that film 'Little Voice' maybe she is an excellent voice mimic too |
Re: Britain's Got Talent
I have reservations about this show now, a young lad was doing 'valerie', simon cowell stopped him in a very abrupt way, seemingly rude, asked the lad to sing something else, and he sang a michael jackson track, unless it was edited in between, how would they ever have the music ready for a second song so quickly?
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Sniffs a bit of prior knowledge doesn't it? The second track just happened to be amazing.
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Quote:
You're right, Derek, it had to be a set-up. Cowell obviously knew the lad could sing the Jackson song and they did the other one for a bit of "theatre". It's not the first time on that show. I believe they decide quite early on who will win and I'd never advise anyone to waste their money voting. Having said all that, the little lad was very good. I just hope his voice doesn't break like I believe the boy's from last week has. |
Re: Britain's Got Talent
He was good, but even cowell wouldnt be that mean, not without redeeming himself, and if it wasnt staged, then he couldnt have redeemed himself, it is contemptable, and deceitful, I wondered why cowell was so rich! He is a conman!
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Dont they ask them to have at least two songs ready? when we went to BGT in Blackpool last year a similar thing happend with a couple of lads, They were rubbish at the first song so Simon asked them if they had a second song lined up (which they did) and they were brilliant at it which took them through,
In and inteview at a later stage I vaguely remember them saying that they are expected to have two songs lined up . |
Re: Britain's Got Talent
I'm sure people are pre-auditioned before they go before the judges.
They wouldn't have the time to listen to every care in the community case that turns up. The whole thing is so heavily edited, so that it appears to be like the modern day equivalent of watching gladiators fight in the Coliseum, with the audience giving the final thumbs up or down. |

Re: Britain's Got Talent
They do at least one audition before they get in front of the judging panel. Only a very small percentage go through and about a quarter of those that do get televised. A little girl who is a friend of my granddaughter auditioned with her sister - about last November - and it was just TV people. They were told they would hear if they were through to the judging in February, ready for the current series. Anyway, they did get a letter but it was a "No".

I reckon the sax player has it in the bag, he exuded talent, maybe too much though? I would love to see him win but it will no doubt be some small child or a dancing dog !!
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
i liked the sax player and i like the song he chose.. but i wouldnt have chosen that song, i would have shosen something a bit more spectacular, like the saxplayer on americas got talent, the one that looked like he had adhd and had eaten a full sweet shop :D (i also wouldnt have played a soprano but thats just me :D)
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Just a little wonder, Kenny G (Kenneth Goldsmith) was on breakfast TV this morning he was brilliant
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Quote:
I didn't think the sax player was anything out of the ordinary. I thought he was good, but no better than any busker in the street. |
Re: Britain's Got Talent
I thought the sax player was very good, would like to hear him play 'aria', I love that tune. I heard today that the kid who simon cowell stoped mid song, is actually a relative of his, or maybe sinita's?
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
The saxophonist was good but no better than any you'd find in any good orchestra. The soprano sax is a bit unusual and he played an evocative piece of music but I didn't think he was particularly outstanding.

Sure he is pretty good as far as saxophonists are concerned .. had been playing for years, and a music teacher to boot. Didn't enjoy the young lad though ... always a little strange when these young people have a voice beyond their years ... the songs don't quite match their immaturity somehow. Bordering on the edge of precautiousness . a quality I don't like ... different than confidence. |

Re: Britain's Got Talent
I think Susan Boyle is good but...... Why do I get the feeling that, if she was attractive and well-dressed, she would have been treated as "average" by Cowell & Co., the audience, the viewing public and the rest of the world? The Americans are all over her like a rash because they think there's something wrong with her. She has a good voice, granted, but it's only really exceptional because it's coming out of her body.

There is a 10 year old from Accy, Hollie Steel, on tomorrow's show who according to Times online is hotly tipped to give Susan Boyle a run for her money, time for a bit of town support if the little lass gets thru I think.:)

Re: Britain's Got Talent

Is she a singer Lindsay ? |
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Starts off dancing much to Cowell's chagrin, and then sings " I could have danced all night" from My Fair Lady apparently. Makes a nice change from underperforming pets I suppose! Both her parents work for the NHS and she lives and is educated in Acc.
Will just have to wait and see. |

Little Holly has just been on BGT she was amazing, very much a talented little girl hope she goes far:)
|
Re: Britain's Got Talent
Yes she was very good, a rare talent and a very mature voice for her age. I think she was struggling a bit trying not to sing in a Lancashire accent but, hey, Gracie Fields did and she was world famous. I'd love to hear Hollie sing something a bit more suited to her age but I'm sure she will in the next heat. :)
