Nice selection - Harrison Ford is a great favourite of mine and Bladerunner is a very original film. I have Howard's End on video and Sense and Sensibility - Emma Thompson did a great job with that screenplay. Room with a View is a fab film too. Different genre but The Silence of the Lambs is worth mentioning as well. I also love a very early Ken Brannagh/Colin Firth film with the lovely(and unfortunately, late) Natasha Richardson. I have this on the original video cassette -it's beautifully filmed and is a lovely, sensitive story. The book is excellent too!

What's it's title? (The Brannagh/Firth one). I can't recall that one just now. Fine actors all!
Silence of the Lambs is great - largely due to Anthony Hopkins, I think.

Don't remember seeing that one, but "Rear Window" with Grace Kelly and Jimmy Stewart is a favourite of mine.

Just watched "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" ... again ... maybe not the best of all time, but right up there. As is "Weekend at Bernie's". And, come to think of it: "Swimming with Sharks".

Good Morning Vietnam and The Deer Hunter are also excellent films. I'm getting some good ideas for what to watch this weekend. Choices, choices!!

12 O'Clock High - quite a lot filmed at Burtonwood, the Control Tower became a listed building because of the film.
Lawrence of Arabia - seen one of the trains TEL actually blew up
West Side Story - For me the best interpretation of Romeo & Juliet
Hot Fuzz - Stupid maybe, bit I found it hilarious
Battle of Britain - Thought I was in a time warp parked at the roadside when 2 Me 109s were attacked by Spitfires. I was near RAF Duxford where most of it was being filmed.
Blazing Saddles - How un-PC can you get, thought it was fantastic

Any black and white English movie on a wet and windy afternoon. Toast and coffee, keep it coming. :)

Ok - a true confession: I remember going to the pictures with my friends, about 1964, watching the Beatles Hard Days Night and us all screaming our fool heads off LOL.
