Just been to Liverpool and Letter to Breznev sprang to mind , and also Boys from the Black Stuff (although it's a series not a film ) . Gonna put these on my things to watch this week.

Nature Of The Beast - filmed in Accrington....cant forget this film...still watch it now...proud owner of this rare dvd

My definition of a good film is one where you want to watch it more than just once, because their story lines are so complex that you are bound to see a subtle something you missed 1st time.

I place very few in this category -
The Godfather Trilogy
The Matrix (part 1)

I don't understand why some people have large video film collections and watch them numerous times.

I agree I think its one of the top films of all time, as it has a family element to it.

One of the best is 2001 A Space Odyssey - because no one knows what it's totally all about.:)

Another I saw on DVD last week was, The Impossible - a true story about a family split up in the 2004 Tsunami and who survived, you can't beat films based on true stories.
