Forgive me if this has been raised before on this thread, but I don't fancy trailing through 14 pages of posts.

How do I know that new karma has been received, other than clicking on My Profile? Is there no indication that new karma has been received? I was on this forum for months before realising that karma existed, so all the karma sent to me in that time went unread.

There used to be a pop up notification but not any more. You have to go and look.

Under all the threads you are subscribed to(in your profile) there will be a notification with the date, the post the Karma was received for....and if you are lucky a comment that is signed by the sender.
I always sign my Karma......I rarely give the red stuff.........four times in the almost 7 years I have been a member.

Why shouldn't they?

The adventure is in trying to work out who gave it to you, are you clever enough? Or do you just pick on the obvious suspect?
I've been given tons of red from folk that thought I'd given them red, when I've been perfectly innocent, Oh it's so much better than the green when that happens, it usually proves they are the D.H. I thought they were without me doing anything and without me having put the effort into actually attacking them.

Meanwhile, why is it?

Why is it that people have screaming ab-dabs if they get anonymous red, but don't start threads claiming it isn't fair when they get anonymous green?

I never sign either, I hardly ever give any of either, but when I do it's because it's deserved.

So, to the greens, well done.

To the reds, suffer it and shut up, take an example from the greens, they never complain.

I know that Karma means nothing......absolutely nothing. But, I hate to get unsigned Karma...it doesn't matter if it is red or green. I try to thank people for giving Karma...and unsigned stuff means the I can't thank them.
I don't give unsigned.......and I rarely give the red stuff......and certainly not because someone has a different point of view to mine. I have given it for an unreadable post and for a post that was rude(discourteous).

That is your choice, I choose not to sign it I don't want thanks or Hate mail.

Nothing worse than giving some green, the person I gave it to then thinks I must return it, then I think, Ooh, more green, must give karma out so I can give my friend green.

I prefere to give the colour a person deserves when they deserve it, without gathering a list of friends (upset or otherwise) going hell for leather tit for tat.
Let's face it, I can hardly be accused of hiding behind karma, I usually give folk an idea what I think and most of the time they reciprocate.

So who needs to sign it? Only wimps.:D

I must be a wimp then Less...and because someone has given me Karma...I do not feel the need to reciprocate. I give Karma for posts that I consider to be good...even if I don't always agree with the point of view expressed.

Anyway, that solid green line under your name with an admirable reputation says that you must be doing something right.

I always try to thank some one who gives me Karma but its rare the red is ever signed, which is pointless really
